iCAN Program
Program Overview
The iCAN (Integrated Career and Academic Networks) Magnet Program at New River Middle School is an opportunity for every student at NRMS to participate in exploring various academic and career pathways through their academy courses along with core content classes.
The academy courses include various course options for students, from physical education and band to robotics and engineering. Every elective course falls under one of the four academies: Marine & Biomedical Sciences Academy; Arts & Humanities Academy; Engineering & Design Academy; Business, Finance, & Entrepreneurship Academy.
Program Offers
All students at our school are a part of the iCAN program and can take several diverse elective courses. Our iCAN program offers exposure for our students to a variety of academic and career pathways through our elective options in each of the NRMS academies. The four iCAN Academies are as follows:
