Shark Academy / 21st Century Sea Stars

New River Middle is offering an after-school tutoring program this year called 21st Century Sea Stars

The activities in this after-school tutoring program will be interactive and engaging test preparation with a focus on Math, Reading and Science.

First Priority Club

 

 

First Priority is a youth organization that supports student-initiated, student-led, Christian clubs on middle school and high school campuses across the US.

Future Florida Educators of America [FFEA]

 

The FEA (Future Educators of America) is not only for those interested in the field of education, but for those interested in leadership as well.  FEA provides students with the opportunity to volunteer throughout school, help fellow peers, and learn important skills such as responsibility and leadership.

 

Meetings will also be announced on an as-needed basis via the morning announcements. 

Meetings typically last for an hour and club members must make arrangements for a ride home.

New River’s NJHS is one of the nation’s premier organizations that recognize outstanding middle school students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.  Students get involved in community service projects such as beach cleanups, food drives, walk-a-thons for cancer, or tree planting for environmental improvement.  To become a member, students must maintain a 3.5-grade point average and complete 30 hours of community service before May 1 in order to participate in an induction ceremony.  The organization is open to 7th and 8th graders who plan to meet the criteria. Sixth graders are invited to attend the meetings after the first term.

Auxiliary unit for the Shark Marching Band and school performances.
Additional practice times will be added based on the event(s).
Events - Macy's Universal Holiday Parade, Plantation Winter Parade, School Programs and Sporting Events.

ECO Shark Environmental Club

 

Eco Shark’s Club mission is to engage, educate and empower students to make a positive impact on our environment. There will be a range of activities designed to promote sustainability and cultivate a love for nature, including gardening, planting guest speakers, beautifying the campus and a recycling program.
