New River Middle is offering an after-school tutoring program this year called Shark Academy!

This FREE program will run from:

The activities in this after-school tutoring program will be interactive and engaging test preparation with a focus on question stems and skills practice in Math, Reading, Civics (7th grade), and Science (8^th grade).

 If you are interested in your child participating, please fill out this Registration Form.

First Priority is a youth organization that supports student-initiated, student-led, Christian clubs on middle school and high school campuses across the US.

Meeting Days – On Wednesdays 4-5PM in Room 303

Meetings will also be announced on an as-needed basis via the morning announcements. 

Meetings typically last for an hour and club members must make arrangements for a ride home.

Our Eco-Sharks in Action Environmental Club is back and ready to make waves again! 

Last year, our Eco-Sharks accomplished incredible things:

• Maintained and beautified our school gardens
• Led a school-wide clean-up initiative
• Developed a recycling program that will launch this year
• Participated in the Everglades Champions Schools Project by the Everglades Foundation
• Completed the Miracle Mangroves Project as their official contribution to the Everglades Champions Schools initiative
• Earned the elite title of Everglades Champion School. The only middle school in Broward County to receive this honor!
• Through the Miracle Mangroves Project, students:
  • Interviewed community members
  • Spoke at the City of Fort Lauderdale Commissioners Meeting
  • Presented at Water Matters Day and the New River Mission Possible Event
  • Received certificates and commemorative coins for their outstanding work
